ENNIS - Huddled high atop the Ennis No. 1 water tower Monday evening, a venue of black buzzards roosted.
The buzzards, also known as Mexican, silver-tip or white-tip buzzards or vultures, pretty much ignored signs on the fenced enclosure below that prohibited unauthorized access to the city's water supply site.

The birds occasionally lifted off to circle around - in buzzardspeak, that's called a "kettle" of buzzards, and it's causing a tempest in the city teapot for Crystal Davis, the director of health services, who has dusted off the animal nuisance sound cannons in efforts to get the pesky birds to buzz off.
